Book Review Kai's Aftermath (sequel to My Man's Best Friend) by K. Elle Collier

Book Two in the My Man's Best Friend series picks right up where book one left off and while book one was a great read- full of drama and scandal- this one was just okay and I could have done without it...but I read it so, here's my review:

Blurb:
Kai, Todd and Alana are back in this sequel to My Man’s Best Friend, which ended with Kai's surprise pregnancy. Kai’s Aftermath picks up with Kai relocating to New York City with hopes of putting her life back together as she awaits the birth of her child. Back in Chicago, Alana is busy with her new relationship with Todd, her budding acting career, as well as a devious master plan to trap Todd into marrying her. But it all comes to a screeching halt when Kai drops a bombshell of her own. The news puts Alana’s new life with
Todd and her master plan in a tailspin, one that she must fight to recover. K. Elle takes you on yet another turbulent ride in her sequel ‘Kai’s Aftermath’ which will leave you on the edge of your seat until the very last page.

Review:
I give this follow up to My Man's Best Friend a 3.5. I didn't really get the need for the three additional characters: Toni, Jessica, and Patrick, but it was obvious they all had their own secrets from the moment they were introduced. Todd was confused and weak, as he was in book one...easily manipulated by Alana, who's the typical self-centered, beautiful train wreck. Any fool can see she doesn't love Todd, she loves his money and what he can do for her, so she's up to her old tricks again in this book- trying to make sure Todd doesn't leave her for Kai, who is dealing with being pregnant and alone in a new city. She meets Toni, the owner of the building she moves into and who seems way too friendly from the beginning, who later reveals a life changing secret to Kai, which has the potential to affect her future with Todd. The story read a little slow in some areas, and there were way too many noticeable errors and mistakes in this book, so an editor was definitely needed. However, I am interested enough to read part three, to see what happens with Alana.
