BOOK REVIEW: One Night Stand by Allison Hobbs & Daaimah S. Poole

I love books that get straight to the point, without dragging the story along. I'm a big fan of Allison Hobbs, and this novella did not disappoint.

Blurb:
Shana Harris keeps it sexy at home, cooking in stilettos and being a freak in bed. Still, her man, Rome doesn't seem satisfied, and Shana suspects he’s cheating. The evidence against Rome is overwhelming: late nights with the boys, sexually explicit texts and pics, and he frequently comes home smelling like perfume. So, what’s a girl to do? Shana’s best friend suggests she should get even by having a one night stand. And Shana agrees. But she’s in for the shock of her life when a one-time encounter turns into much more than she ever bargained for. Rome or the sexy stranger…which one will claim her heart?

My Review:
This was a good story, which teaches a lesson about the consequences of getting revenge. I've found myself in a similar situation, though luckily my results weren't nearly as bad as what Shana went through. After Rome suddenly forgave her for lying to him, it was easy to predict what was going to happen.
Although Shana lost her man in the end, I still don't think he was totally innocent (he did have girls sending naked pics to his phone) and to give another girl the engagement ring he'd originally bought Shana, was just trifling. She may have just dodged a bullet when Rome left her. Amir was a true psycho, but things like this do happen, everyday.
There were lot's of lessons to be learned from this book, the main one being- Be careful who you hop into bed with!!!

My Rating:
