BOOK REVIEW: Love's Call by Jala Summers

I just finished reading this romance novel that I stumbled upon, and I'm so glad I came across it.

Blurb:
Kyle Jones, recovering from a messy split from his ex-wife, is convinced by friends to enjoy a singles' cruise to take his mind off of his recent divorce. He is prepared to take his friends' advice to live it up and enjoy his new bachelor status. That is, until he meets Liana Harris.
Liana Harris, whose only reason for attending the singles' cruise is to accompany her friend, is not interested in finding love on her vacation. With her own past relationship issues, she has lost faith in the elusive ideal of love, and avoids anything that bears any resemblance to it.
But Liana and Kyle soon discover that the defenses and walls they have erected don't stand a chance when love calls.

My Review:
This book drew me in from the beginning and held my attention until the end. Lia was so stubborn, I almost wanted to reach through the book and smack her a time or two; however, I understood her reasons for being that way (been there, done that) Not only had her father not been there for her as he should have when she was growing up, she got involved with a two-timing loser, who just so happened to be married with kids. That's enough to make any woman build a wall up. What I liked most, was the cruise. I'm afraid of water, but here lately, I've really been wanting to face my fear and go on a cruise. Reading this book, I felt like I was on that cruise ship with them, right in the middle of all the excitement. I was sold on Jamaica, but they can have that cliff-jumping, I'm not that crazy. I'm definitely talking my husband into going on one. I'm so glad Lia and Kyle found happiness, but it was almost predictable that as soon as she'd let her guard down, someone from the past showed up, threatening to destroy her newfound happiness.

This book was well-written, with a few minor mistakes, but nothing that took away from the story. I would definitely recommend this book to any readers who like a good, clean, romance novel.
